I think Pirate parties are so fun. Both my kids this year had a pirate theme. My 4 year old daughter wanted a Tinkerbell party and so we did Tinkerbell and pirates since there was an even amount of boys there. For my son, we went to a pirate themed restaurant and they all wore pirate hats and got to play all sorts of games.

What I think is so great, is how much girl pirate stuff they have for you to buy now. I was able to get the cutest pink pirate hats and pastel colored items for their treasure chests. I think everyone assumes Pirate Parties are for boys but with all the new stuff they have out there for girls, I think every girl should have at least one pirate party. Especially those little girls who have brothers! :) They are just fun and there are a ton of activities you can do with them.

Lost Child Lanyards For Vacations!

Ok so I didn't do as well as I had hoped on the contest. I only had 5 entries so all 5 of you that commented wins. You can choose a high resolution file to print your own invitations or announcements on or you can choose a luggage tag. Let me know what you choose so that I can make it for you.

I have created something else that I will get pictures on here shortly. Right now I am using my husbands computer so the pictures I wish to upload arnt on here. I created a tag for young children to wear around their neck when in large gathering places. When I went to Disneyworld last year my biggest worry was that my youngest son would get lost. The tag that is hooked to a lanyard states the childs name and that he/she is lost. The back side states his/her parents names as well as their cell phone numbers. There is also a spot to put an allergy or disablitly. I will put one on my son everytime we go to large places. It just makes me feel better that someone call help him find me again. Going Personal

I have never liked writing my thoughts and feelings down on paper or anywhere else for that matter. But there are so many things you forget if you dont write them down.

So I decided I am turning this business blog into a personal blog as well. I need to start writing things down for one me to remember tomorrow what happended today ( I tend to forget things more now than I used to) and two I found an old journal that I wrote in when I went to Disneyland in 1986. WOW! That makes me feel old! As I was reading it it just made me laugh at all the things I wrote about and my thoughts when I was that age. I want to come back 10 or 20 years from now and read this so that I can laugh again at all the things I wrote about whether it be about my kids or me personally.

As you know the reason I started making this blog was to show off my latest things I have created. As most of you know me I have done everything! Sold almost every Home Party Plan there is...My thinking was always that I dont want to work. I want to stay at home with my children. Growing up I dont remember my mom coming to my class room very often to help, or being able to go on field trips with me. I really want to do that with my kids. I want to enjoy them the most that I can, life is sooo short that I want to be there all the time for them if at all possible. Where is this going you ask? I am just rambling like usual. With the economy the way it is it's just not in the cards for me right now to go jobless. So the only way I can ever think of going jobless is with everything I always try to make and sell at home. I really do enjoy my job though. I work at an Elementary School and teach the kids computers and computer skills. It really is fun but like I said I dont get to go to my kids classrooms and help and my last baby is in Kindergarten right now. He is going on his first field trip next month. But unfortunately I work on Tuesdays and so I wont be able to go.

Invitations and Announcements I really have had a lot of fun creating. I think this has been the most entertaining thing I have come up with yet. I love being on the computer and creating things in Photoshop. I have always wanted to go back to school and get a degree in computer graphics or something. I even tried creating my own digital scrapbooking elements and paper. That really is harder than it looks. There is so many new things in scrapbooking that it makes it really hard to keep up. Creating Invitations and Announcements I have been able to use my digital scrapbooking stuff I have created to good use. And now I even started creating my own luggage/bag tags. They have been a lot of fun as well, and I even sold a few with in the first hour of listing them on Etsy. I just love Etsy! Its been the greatest thing for moms that love to create and sell their own stuff. I will post a few that I created last week. For anyone new to my blog I create custom photo invitations and announcements. I have many designs on my blog as well as many more at www.mckennalaynedesigns.etsy.com. Right now I am giving away 5 high resolution digital files. What does this mean you ask? This means that if you have any special occasion coming up; graduation, new baby, birthdays, wedding, or any other occasion, I create a 5x7 or 4x6 digital card specialized for you. You then take that file to Walmart, Target, Winkflash, Snapfish, or any other photo printer you prefer and have them print as many as you need. If you have a photo printer you can also print them your self. Lets say you want to announce a baby you just had. I create the file, you send it to www.winkflash.com and have them print 100 copies. Their 4x6 run as low as .06 a piece. That means you only pay $6.00 for 100 announcements. You can then mail them off in envelopes. I do sell envelopes as well on my etsy account.

To make it even cheaper for you, you can also just email that same file to your entire email contact list for free. So now you just announced your special "little one" along with a cute photo of your "little one" for free to all your family and friends in minutes!

Today I created some baby shower announcements. These can easily be printed on your own cardstock. I have these ones with out a photo picture for only 5.00 for the high resolution file. You can make as many copies as you need. I know there are many babies being born out there so I will work on creating more of these as well as a couple more graduation announcements this week. My graduation cards have been doing the best right now but I am sure thats due to the season and graduation coming soon.

I have had so much fun creating these cards. I like creating these much more than I did when I as creating digital scrapbook papers and elements. When I start creating one something else comes into my head so then I create that one. I am hoping to create about 4-5 a night. Some nights I have been too busy but for the most part I have been able to. Not all of my designs are on this blog. All of my designs are at my etsy store. I kind of talked about my etsy store before but the more I think about it the better I think the idea of a digital file is easier for people. So many people have printers now that they can print their own pictures on as well as these can easily be printed on cardstock. If you dont see something in my etsy store you can always email me at mckennalayne@msn.com with other ideas. And all of my templates can be used for anything. One of my girl birthday cards can be changed to a boy just by changing the colors and again my graduation ones can also be changed to the school colors. Please email me if you have any questions!

Ok so here are another 5 cards created. I have these cards also listed in my etsy account. mckennalaynedesigns.etsy.com In my etsy account I am actually selling the high resolution files. This way you can get the file and print as many copies as you wish at any place you choose. There are many places you can print them at: Walmart, Target, and so many online places. This option makes it easier for you if you are on a time restraint. The files are in 5x7 400dpi but can be altered to 4x6 or 4x8.

Ok so this is my new love! This is what I spend most of my time doing now. I create announcements, invitations, and what ever else you want to bring in something special. I am very reasonable with my prices and I guarentee all my work. You can tell me what you want or pick from one of my templets. I love a challage so I can create most anything you want. My prices are:

4x6 with envelopes minimum of 10 $.50 a piece

5x7 with envelopes minimum of 10 $.75 a piece

4x8 with enveopes minimum of 10 $.75 a piece

There is a $.20 deduction per piece on orders above 200

Turn around time is 2 weeks, once you email me your pictures. If you need it sooner, then there is a $20.00 special processing charge. I will email you a proof in pdf (adobe reader) to finalize the order. I take Visa, Mastercard, and Discover through PayPal.

Shipping is $ 2.00 on orders up to 20 cards

$ 3.50 on orders up to 50 cards

$ 5.50 on orders up to 200 cards

$ 10.00 on orders above 201 cards
